Drupalites: Many Department Name and URL Changes — Please Check Your Website

Hi, Drupalites!

We’ve not sent any updates recently because we know everyone has been hard at work! We do have some updates and reminders to share.

Website Name Updates and URL Changes

As part of recent academic structure changes, several website names and URL paths are being updated to align with the university’s evolving organization.

Department Name Changes

  • College of Honors and Global Education, formerly
    • Honors College
    • Office of Global Education
  • College of Public Health and Health Sciences, formerly College of Public Health
  • College of Sciences and Humanities, formerly College of Arts and Sciences
  • Continuing Education (including workshops), now included in Lifelong Learning
  • Graduate Student Resources, formerly Graduate College
  • Senior Guest, now included in Lifelong Learning
  • Summer / Youth Programming, now included in Lifelong Learning

URL Updates

These URL updates will occur on May 21:

  • /ehs → Education and Human Services (formerly /ehhs)
  • /phhs → Public Health and Health Sciences (formerly /publichealth)
  • /sh → Sciences and Humanities (formerly /cas)

These URL updates have already occurred:

  • /graduate-student-resources - (formerly /graduatecollege)
  • /lifelong-learning  → Integrated /cde, /techprep and /yourtrainingpartner
  • /lifelong-learning/lifelong-learning-programs?dept=youth → New way to find youth programs

What You Need to Do

Please take a few minutes to review your website(s) and update any references to college names, URLs or related content as needed. This includes page copy, links, PDFs and any materials that reference the previous names.

Making these updates now will help ensure accuracy, consistency and a better experience for our users.

Accessibility Compliance

Thank you for your contributions to the accessibility compliance initiative with its original deadline of this past April. As you know, the deadline has been extended. However, we encourage you to maintain working momentum and to consider wrapping up any remaining work in a methodical manner sooner than later.

Monitoring and Fixing Broken Links Is Critical After Accessibility and Website Name Changes

Because so much work has occurred and/or will be occurring, please be certain to closely monitor your SiteImprove reports to find and repair broken links. SiteImprove should crawl the site before the June reports come up.
