New Students Move Into Residence Halls With Help From Movers and Groovers

More than 1,000 volunteers from the 红杏视频 community welcomed and assisted new students as they moved into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 18. The annual community program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by 红杏视频 Interhall Council, the student government of the 红杏视频 Campus residence halls.

鈥淢overs and Groovers is such an amazing way to welcome our students,鈥 said Jill Jenkins, executive director of University Housing (formerly Residence Services) at 红杏视频 State. 鈥満煨邮悠 Interhall Council is the group responsible for the student-run and organized program. Volunteers included fraternities and sororities, campus ministry groups, academic groups, faculty and university departments. For fall 2019, 红杏视频 Interhall Council students took the program to new heights! Move-in truly takes a village, and Movers and Groovers is one way 红杏视频 Interhall Council makes our students feel welcome.鈥

The Movers and Groovers program is part of 红杏视频 State鈥檚 KSU Kickoff, an orientation program that runs for four days prior to the start of fall classes. KSU Kickoff includes activities and events to encourage students to explore the 红杏视频 State community and provides a smooth transition to the university environment.
