WHAT: In honor of Juneteenth National Independence Day, a federal holiday, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s Juneteenth Jubilee will be held Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Manchester Field on the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Campus. This event is free and open to the public. ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State’s Juneteenth Jubilee will include vendors, live performances, face painting, head wrapping demonstration, music and dancing. It will also feature a showcase of Black business owners in the community. The university intends to make the Juneteenth Jubilee an annual event.

Governor Names Christian Palich to ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State Board of Trustees

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Christian Palich of Plain City, Ohio, to the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Board of Trustees. Palich will serve through May 16, 2031. Palich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009 from ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State President Todd Diacon Announces Annual Faculty, Staff Award Recipients

George and Gina Jenkins Establish Student-Athlete Scholarship With $1 Million Planned Gift

George L. Jenkins, a 1963 graduate of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, and his wife, Gina, of Scottsdale, Arizona, have pledged $1 million to create the Gina and George Jenkins Student-Athlete Scholarship Fund that will support student-athletes in any varsity athletics program or team sponsored by ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

In observance of Veterans Day, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will be closed Nov. 11 and will reopen Nov. 12.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18. ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will be participating in this test.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ State Remembers May 4, 1970, With 56th Commemoration

This year’s May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure.
