Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Journal articles
- Conference abstracts or presentations
- Online publications or website postings
- Dissertations indexed through the library
- Oral discussions describing the invention in sufficient detail for someone else to make or use it
- Selling or offering for sale a prototype of the invention
