Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science concerned with behavior. The science of ABA attempts to understand, explain, describe, and predict behavioral processes so that improvement to individual and social conditions can occur. The goal of ABA is to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior through skill acquisition and the reduction of problematic behavior. The evidence-based technology of ABA is well established, with applications in the areas of schools, developmental disabilities, concerns in children and youth, parenting, and individual behavioral changes. The Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate Program requirements focus on integrating foundational and specialized coursework with practical experience.
